Our Management Modalities Include

We believe that the first step in treatment of spinal pain is the accurate diagnosis. To obtain the correct diagnosis, Dr. El Abd will examine the patients in the office, review the relevant medical records, imaging findings and formulate a treatment plan. The plan is a stepwise management using the least interventions first and then graduating to more involved procedures if the pain is resistant. Dr. El Abd is a physiatrist (add link to AAPMR) and his goal is to reduce pain and resume function as soon as possible. Treatment can be in the form of physical therapy, medications to relieve the inflammation and pain, interventional procedure performed at the office and interventional procedures performed at the hospital (Dr. El Abd is affiliated with Newton Welleley Hosiptal) or referral for surgical management if required. Dr. El Abd is known in the Boston area for his diagnostic skills and techniques in performing fluoroscopic guided spinal procedures, he lectures locally, nationally and internationally and actively publishes articles and book chapters on these procedures.
